Valentines Day Heart Shaped Hot Pink Mesh Wreath with Free Scripture Printable

Valentines Day Heart Shaped Hot Pink Mesh Wreath with Free Scripture Printable

Want to spice up your front door with a bit of Valentine’s Day bling? Make this DIY hot pink mesh wreath with an upcycled pool noodle base!

If you’ve been keeping up with our posts here at Indoor Outdoor Space, you’ll know that earlier in the week I posted on how to make a frugal heart-shaped wreath base from pool noodles. Yes, the cheapskate in me will not spring open my wallet for an expensive Styrofoam wreath base – especially the extra for a heart shape one! Geesh! Therefore, my upcycle crafty side takes over and I end up using whatever recyclables I have on hand, like left over summer pool noodles and a handy roll of duct tape.

For this DIY hot pink mesh wreath, you’ll need to start with this previous craft tutorial to make your heart-shaped base first. Then head back over here for the finishing touches to add the pink mesh using floral pins, and a bible verse printable from Jeremiah 31:3 reminding us of God’s amazing everlasting love and unfailing kindness.

Alrighty now, so if you have your lovely heart-shaped duct taped wreath base in hand, we will proceed to dressing it up with some hot pink, sparkle mesh. You’ll need: a roll of duct tape, a large roll of hot pink mesh, 2 small rolls of light pink mesh and 2 packs of floral pins (a couple hundred or so).

For the technique that I used to crumple and pin the mesh onto the wreath base, please watch this YouTube Video by Dee’s Fashion & Design. You basically make large double loops and use a couple of floral pins to pin the bases of the loops onto the wreath a few inches apart for each looped section. Work your way around the wreath until it is full. Then add bunches of the lighter colored pink in double loops also randomly spread out between the darker hot pink loops. I used a large double loop of the light pink mesh to make a hanger.

So in all honestly, my intended “heart-shaped” wreath turned out a bit more triangle after putting all that bubbly mesh on the base; however, it was a fun mother-daughter craft project where my six year old got to choose the colors and do some of it with me so I call it a win-win – regardless of its appearance and even if the giant bling wreath is a little overwhelming on my screen door 😉

As a finishing touch, I put this printable 8×10 scripture verse from Jeremiah 31:3 about the Lord’s everlasting love and unfailing kindness in a frame in the center of my Valentine’s Day wreath. I recycled an old metal frame and duct taped it in the center of my wreath from the backside as seen below. (And, yes, I do like me some duct tape for sure! Pink duct tape can fix anything…right?!)

You can download and print the bible verse below and also find one other version to choose from. Besides being a sweet addition to your wreath, it would also make a wonderful stand-alone Valentine decor or gift of encouragement to someone you hold dear, or maybe just someone who needs a reminder of how big God’s love is for them this Valentine’s day (it is often a lonely holiday for many – whether in a relationship or not!).
